Women's day.. celebrated annually as to focus on women's rights such as gender equality, violence and abuse against women,.  When we get to the roots of where it all began, why there is a separate day..  why is it on Mar 8th, since when the day is getting celebrated.. We can go way back to 1909 when the idea of women's day  originated in the U.S. with the American Socialist Part. In 1910, a German feminist advocated for a global day at a socialist women's conference in Copenhagen. The following year, events across Europe marked the day, and during World War I, women used it to protest the armed conflict, which lasted from 1914 to 1918. In 1917, International Women’s Day is observed on March 8 after a massive protest in Russia that led to the country’s eventual withdrawal from the war.
