It is a gentle guide to mindfulness and emotional well-being, offering readers a path to inner peace in a fast-paced world. Written by a South Korean Zen Buddhist monk, the book has resonated with millions worldwide, providing solace and wisdom through its accessible prose and serene illustrations.

It's a simple read, things that we will eventually realize as we age! My experience reading it was like reading my own mind :) The illustrations were pleasant, I really loved them. So colorful and also calms us down while we read.

The book is structured into eight sections—
Rest, Mindfulness, Passion, Relationships, Love, Life, The Future and Spirituality. Each filled with short reflections, anecdotes, and practical advice. Sunim emphasizes the importance of slowing down to truly experience life, suggesting that our perception of the world is often influenced by our internal state. His teachings encourage readers to cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and self-awareness, offering a gentle reminder to prioritize mental well-being amidst life's demands.

My favorite quotes from the book. There are many good quotes, I'm just listing few samples here..
  • Don't be afraid to be different. It's the only way to be true to yourself.
  • The quieter you become, the more you can hear
  • If we know how to be content, we can relax our endless striving and welcome serenity.
  • When you slow down, you can see the beauty in the world around you.
  • Taking care of yourself is the most powerful way to begin to take care of others.
  • We see it's not the situation that is troubling us, but our perspective on it.
  • Don't give up in the face of criticism. Learn to brush aside what people who don't know you have to say.
  • It is easier to learn when you set aside your pride and are honest.

The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down is a thoughtful and calming read that serves as a gentle reminder to pause and reflect. Whether you're seeking guidance on personal growth, relationships, or simply looking to find more peace in your daily life, this book offers valuable insights that can help you navigate the complexities of modern existence with greater ease and understanding.

Life: Embracing the Journey, One Precious Moment at a Time Ever pause and truly think about life? That intricate, beautiful, sometimes chaotic tapestry we’re all a part of? It’s a common refrain, isn't it?   Life is so precious.   Yet, in the hustle and bustle of our daily routines, do we sometimes find ourselves taking it for granted? I think many of us do. Some of us are on a clear path, knowing our purpose, while others are still beautifully exploring, figuring out what it truly means to   value it . One of the most profound truths I’ve learned, a mantra that sees me through sunshine and storm, is this:   This too shall pass.   Whether it's a moment of pure joy we wish could last forever, or a challenge that feels insurmountable, remembering the transient nature of all things can bring both appreciation and solace. So, how do we navigate this incredible journey? Here are a few thoughts I try to live by: Cultivate a Resilient Mindset Our outlook shapes our rea...
